  1. E-day wants 35, so let me know if you want the rest. PM me and we can chat about it. I don't want ebay prices. If I did, I'd put things on there instead. I'm just too lazy
  2. PM me and we'll chat. I actually PMed you a few days ago and didn't get a response so I'm glad you aren't just ignoring me
  3. It's about 50/50 where I both don't have enough time and she wants the space under the bed for her crap..er..I mean stuff. I'm technically taking up both the space under my side and her side.
  4. She says they have to all go. I might keep a few but anything that will sell or is needed for this site I don't mind parting with.
  5. My wife finally put down her foot with my magazine hoarding. She said they have to be gone by the end of the year. I know there is no way I can scan all of it and I just don't have the time to do much contributing. I don't really have prices set, so make me an offer. I don't want to just throw them all out, but I also don't want to deal with Ebay and selling single magazines. Making $2 off a few magazines here and there just isn't worth the time and hassle. Plus, I just don't like Ebay. I have listed all the magazines on my local Craigslist and haven't had any serious offers. I would prefer to have someone local pick them up, but mailing them out is better than throwing them out. Worst case if I can get enough for postage, whoever wants to pay it will get the magazines. NOTE: 5/07/10 I've updated the list to reflect those magazines that have already been sold and mailed out. There are a few still reserved, but the rest are fair game. 6. This is part of the reason I've downloaded most of the movies my wife owns. Forcing someone to watch commercials every time you view a movie you have purchased is ridiculous. Double-clicking a file to open is much less painful.
  7. If it's a good enough deal, driving a few hundred miles might be worth it. I usually only search in my county, so the most I drove was 45 min for an almost brand new weight bench. I spent 2 hours in time, $10 in gas, and saved about $100 bucks. Well worth it if you ask me.
  8. For big cities, I think the future is Craigslist. I haven't bought a thing off ebay in a long time. It's usually a big hassle and sometimes people take forever to send it out. It's also usually littered with people who jack up the price more than simply buying it at Amazon.com. You can't beat Craigslist because people come to you (no shipping hassles) and give cash (no fees to pay). It's also not traceable in case they ever start taxing transactions on the internet (probably not, but who knows). I've sold about $300 worth of stuff on Craigslist and wouldn't do it any other way.
  9. The only issue I see with this is that tickets nowadays are $12-16. It's no wonder it has exceeded Titanic. I would much rather they track success by ticket sales. Here are the top 20 ticket selling movies of all time: http://www.thrfeed.com/2010/01/avatar-ticket-sales-.html
  10. Hold up a sec Kiwi. Jimmy was most certainly referring to the original poster. No need to get upset. I'm sure Jimmy can confirm this.
  11. If you are referring to the RapidShare links, yes, they have been down for months. However, magazine downloads work just fine for those who have the sufficient post count or contribute to the site. Last time I checked it was 5 or 10 (though this may have changed). However, I think we also instituted a rule that says for every crybaby post, that deducts 10 from your post count. Nicely done, you have -20 now.
  12. One of these days (when I have some time), I'm going to torrent all the GamePro magazines I have (as 1 mag per torrent). I'll report back and let me know what the results are.
  13. I wonder if instead of having a huge torrent for each magazine, if they were split up. This might discourage people from downloading EVERY magazine that GamePro put out and instead only pick the ones that really want. Another option is to put all the magazines into a huge RAR file (maybe 10 issues at a time). This way, a user is forced to bear part of the internet load. It kinda depends on how many people are downloading. But I guess that's the nature of any torrent. I frankly don't have a problem giving away bandwidth. I'm limited only the the upload speed. I've left my torrent machine on 24/7 since June and probably upload 25GB per month. I doubt Time Warner cares. In fact, in July, they upped my speed from 6mb down to 10mb and 500kb to 1mb up.
  14. I think torrents are a good idea. In fact, I seeded GamePro 006 over at Mininova and in 2 months, over 55 people downloaded it from me. I have a dedicated torrent machine and have no problem leaving it on 24/7. One of these days when I have time, I'm going to seed every GamePro from this site.
  15. The 5 min rule applies in my house, unless of course it is a banana.
  16. Have we decided on a naming standard for the pictures in the gallery? When I looked in the GamePro section, I see headings of "gp-0803.jpg" and "gp-0809-s.jpg" which are a bit confusing. I eventually figured it it was YYMM, but they are hard to read and quickly understand.
  17. After going through 4-5 years of hardcore studying, it really does pay off when you can secure a decent job and have the entire weekend to blow. My advice is to be patient and work your ass off because if you don't, you'll be sorry the rest of your life. College does come to an end eventually and when it does, it will feel like you have way too much free time again, like you did in junior high
  18. I agree. Being able to read PDFs and CBR on an iphone is cool for about 20 or 30 min and then just gets tedious because you constantly have to zoom in and out to navigate. I guess if you don't own a computer it would be acceptable.
  19. No worries. It's not like you had the only copy in existence. Plus, you can still help by either donating funds to keep the site running or purchasing magazines off Ebay and scanning those.
  20. I've used GoodReader for other PDFs without a problem. Works rather well actually.
  21. I think Eday's idea though is to flood the front page with nothing but his scans. He is scanning up a storm.
  22. Unless Eday wants the job, I'll take on being GamePro's project leader and oversee the tasks that need to be completed. I'll also commit to uploading at least 1 mag per month.
  23. You have a link to the article? I want to know who is number 1-5. I agree that being 30 lbs overweight is sometimes healthier than being 30 lbs underweight. However, it would be very hard to say someone is healthy who is 100 lbs overweight unless they are a bodybuilder. Speaking of which, lifting weights is a great way to get in shape and not suffer with being hungry all the time. Muscle burns 3x as many calories as fat. In fact, if you want to add muscle, in order to see any progress you have to increase your daily intake of calories anywhere from 300-1500 per day above what the daily recommendation states, depending on your body type.
