  1. Zelda 2's final portion is traversing the caverns of Death Mountain? Now that's a funny slip up...
  2. I want to complete the Smash cast, at least. I missed a lot when they were new, but on the other hand, this also means the scalpers have let their grips loosen on the prices.
  3. How's that work out though? See, the thing abou the N64 compared to modern games (and game controllers) was that the Analog stick and the Digital Pad were never secondary to each other. It was either one or the other. A game like Mario 64 uses the analog stick and the Z Button, but the L button and D-Pad are never once used (or functional) for the game. Thus, you'd hold the controller with the middle and right prongs. Kirby 64, meanwhile, uses Digital pad exclusively. The shoulder buttons don't get any real use, and Z is flat out ignored. You hold it on the right and left prongs when you play. It's understandble, really, they went this way: Analog control and full 3D movement were fledgling at the time, so it makes sense you'd design your game to work around one form of control. It's partially why the PSX with analog, the PS2, and the PS3 controllers all are a little odd: In an era where analog control is the focus, they have their left analog stick in a "secondary" position, which is a little counter-intuitive.

  5. Nintendo Power reveals first information about Mega Man 10!
  6. In no particular order... 1: Sunset Riders, for fun and frantic four player side scrolling shooting. 2: . A little short, and really repetitive, but a fun way to fight for freedom wherever there is trouble.3: Super Burgertime. I did like the original, but Super is just more colorful and fun. Plus it has actual sound, and isn't hair pulling difficult. 4: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The original arcade game, not Turtles in Time. Time was superior when it was ported to the SNES. 5: Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow of Mystara. Speaking of beat-em ups, here's a classic one from Capcom. Notable because of the titular roleplay elements. Also, Thief is a hottie. 6: . The classic game with the saucy title got a 90s revamp, and it's just so much fun to play.7: . Though not Arcade games technically, you'd be stupid to have a dream arcade with NO pinball!8: Aerofighters (any number). Your classic vertical shooter format. Get a friend over for wonderful fun frying over the jungle. I'll admit, I'm hard pressed to name two more. What to pick? Ms Pac-Man? Joust? Sinistar? Dragon's Lair? There's simply too many to name and narrow it down to... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYnYnbLjq5Q
  7. Super Mario Bros. Hard as hell, but it was all we had for a long time. Eventually, Mario 2 worked its way in, and I was all over that because how cartoony and fun it was. I was speechless the Christmas I got Super Mario Bros 3. I don't even remember how long it took me to beat that game... just that it was the biggest Mario moment ever for me. I didn't see Super Mario World until much later... likely in Nintendo Power 28. But to play it for real? Man, not until emulators, I think... or my friend's house. I never got a Super until much later.
  8. This thread convinced me to buy LttP on my Virtual Console earlier in the week. Memories of when I first saw the game (it was the first SNES game I saw in motion) flood back so well. Entered the Dark World... it's amazing how much this game is burned into my head.
  9. Final Fantasy V, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 3 and 4, Pokemon, and the Paper Mario franchise off the top of my head.
  10. Hey, Kirby's Dreamland 3 just came out! Not just that, but Castlevania 3 just came out this last Monday.
  11. Funny how now we expect that nowadays. But back then the boss was impossible.
  12. There are three doors in the original Metroid. Blue are standard. You shoot them, they open. Red is next. Five missiles are required to open them each time. There are also another color door, I believe a DARK red, which take 20 or so missiles to get open. But those are rare.
  13. There's just too much that makes me worry. Comments from the dev team like "We had to tone down the combination moves, since they took away reasons to get into a vehicle" and such like that. The team aspect is why Banjo wasn't JUST another shallow Mario 64 style collectathon.
  14. Oh that is just beautiful. This game is looking to be a glorious sequel to Wario Land 4.
  15. For the first time since the advent of cel-shading, they can FINALLY boast "You're playing a cartoon!" with the graphics.
