  1. Most people frequenting this site are USA based so don't have ready access to the UK magazines rather than being 'too lazy' to scan them. Quite frankly your attitude sucks making asinine comments like that!! Then again, you are probably just another leecher who doesn't contribute towards anything and rather just takes, takes, takes etc ..... Oh yeah .... if you want NMS UK try http://www.outofprintarchive.com. While you are there have a moan over there about how they only have 10 issues or so and see where that gets you!!
  2. CVG used to print a monthly chart looking like this .... Is that what you were looking for? Kiwi
  3. Well ..... if there is any truth to the rumours that both the new Xbox and PS4 have x86 based CPU's the only way to play older content is likely via game streaming as the logistics of emulating cell CPU code onto x86 would be a nightmare. That and the fact that if they actually do it then the hackers will likely work out how they are doing it and it won't be long before emulators are out there for PC users to run PS3 games etc. No, I think backwards compatibility is going to be non-existent with the new generation of consoles. Ironically that makes them somewhat less desirable as people with current consoles need to retain their older consoles and hope they don't break. And if they are PC chipset based what can they bring to the table that a PC cannot other than a closed box with likely no upgradability? Nope, I am not sold on the idea of these new consoles. I am eagerly awaiting their announcements though so I can see if the rumours are correct.
  4. The Atari of today is not the same as the Atari of old so it doesn't really concern me that much. I cannot recall a single game made under the new Atari that I actually like or even play. Thank goodness for MAME.
  5. Yeah. I checked every Gamepro around that time and only saw the usual Diehard ads. None like the one described.
  6. I am seriously thinking about whether to run a private tracker on a seed-box out of the Netherlands with all the recent and on-going crap with file hosting companies to be honest. If it wasn't for the fact I know jack diddly about creating a tracker I would have probably already done it by now.
  7. That's because as of this morning Rapidshare changed the default folder settings from public to private. If you haven't specifically made them public in the permissions they now are locked down. You will need to adjust the permissions for every folder.
  8. Yeah .... navigation is a bit borked. Just click on one of the latest submissions and it takes to the page
  9. Seriously though, I was buying issues of Games tm @ $17NZ for a while then the digital versions arrived @ $6.49NZ and I was ecstatic. Now I have subscribed to Imagine's Readr App and I get access to every back issue they have released of just about all their mags ... Retro Gamer, Games tm, Play tm, X360, Custom PC. PC Pro ... all for the monthly fee of $14NZ. That price cannot be beaten. Now I wish Future plc would do something similar but we all know that is highly unlikely. And that they would make Nintendo Official Magazine available digitally. Then we'd have no excuses not to support them with our wallets.
  10. Doesn't actually surprise me what with the main publishers now providing digital versions at less than a third of the print price. Who would want to stock something that isn't going to sell?
  11. See http://magazine-preservation.org/index.php?topic=1533.0 ... for the layout I am using. Unfortunately I don't know who supplied particular magazine issues hence the generic but if someone has a list of who created what I will happily change it to acknowledge the creator for their efforts. See ... http://magazine-preservation.org/index.php?topic=1515.0 ... acknowledgement of wonderman's creation of those CVG magazines. Any issues let me know.
  12. Just like to clear the air. Some people seem to take exception to others hosting their content. I was that way myself only because they didn't even bother to acknowledge where it came from. I always do acknowledge the origin of the file in question on my site anyway so I don't stress out about it now. As you said ... the more people preserving content the less chance of it disappearing.
  13. You can grab a lot of UK CVG's and so forth over at my website at www.magazine-preservation.org Not trying to take people away from here at all .... just that I have re-uploaded a ton of the UK mags onto Rapidshare. I scanned and contributed a lot of them here anyway.
  14. What would be really cool is the ability to select a skin per forum section, eg, go to an Xbox section and the skin is Xbox oriented and ditto for PlayStation or Nintendo sections etc.
  15. What about us overseas members wanting to donate? What do we have to add on top to get a 'free' magazine?
  16. Yeah ... raise it 20GB then put a 50GB limit on contacts when that used to be unlimited. Hmmm ..... not sure if that's win or not to be honest.
  17. I knew there was one in there to bear arms .... whichever one it is it sucks!!! I don't really follow US shenanigans living where I do but every time something like this happens it reinforces the opinion that people there are too wound up on protecting liberties rather than looking at the personal cost those liberties inflict.
  18. While you bend over and take it up the arse from the NRA gun nuts and no political party is prepared to stand up and change the fifth amendment I guess "unplanned population control" is going to happen again and again and again. Anyway .... next time someone comes calling they'll probably Neutron bomb the whole place anyway so they can use the amenities afterwards. What good is the fifth then? The world has changed in 100 years but unfortunately the American constitution remains in the dark ages.
  19. Now their Rapidshare Manager utility is saying it cannot process an update and I cannot drag and drop files into a folder to commence an upload. Grrrrrrr ..... worthless p.o.s.
  20. Well .... I haven't heard anything back so if you can get him to ship them to you go for it. I just won an auction for 130 Amiga magazines so I am going to be bogged down for some time by the look of it.
  21. That's the plan although I do have GamesMaster, NGC Magazine and Hyper also on my plate as priority mags for preservation.
  22. Frak!!! I hope you are okay Matteous. Don't sweat it on our account. Better you are completely well before stressing yourself into another fainting spell my friend. Mags are just mags after all. Because you didn't PM me the postage costs I didn't know if you were still getting rid of them or were really busy. That's all. Still keen on knowing what the issue numbers you have of CVG so I can fill in blanks in my collection and we have nearly no NMS mags preserved so they are a priority too.
  23. Haven't heard back from Matteous I am afraid so not sure if he's passed them off to someone else or is just busy.
  24. I think the rule here is you need to scan the mags yourself if you want them here. Besides .... have you had a look at the quality of the mags over there? Fairly poor is how I would describe them. Sure it is great having such a large collection but they have scanned them on an A4 scanner so pages are cropped pretty badly and then there's the fact that whatever scanner they were using is crap and resulted in coloured lines running through a heck of a lot of the pages in most issues. I have all of them but was disappointed enough to start scanning the 20 or so print issues I possess of the magazine so at least some are available in decent quality.
