  1. What do you mean? Any Nintendo Power magazine five years old or older is being released, which basically means issues 001-145. I think Nintendo Power is released in countries outside of the United States. If you're asking what country these scans are from, they are from the United State's version of Nintendo Power.
  2. I can't say I recommend VCL just because of it's interface. What I do is this: I use Winamp for my audio and it plays 100% of the stuff I try to play. I use Media Player Classic for my videos and it works on 99.99% of the stuff I try to play. It has internal support for codecs and containers (e.g. MKV, OGM) so no external codecs are necessary unless you need to upgrade. For the stuff it doesn't work on (only one thing so far for me: videos in 4000kbps Divx format at 640x480 resolution at 60fps [The high quality Metroid Prime speed runs found at http://speeddemosarchive.com/]), I used VCL and they played fine. The reason I use MPC over VCL is because of it's interface. Because of the rarity of the files that won't play smoothly in MPC, I stick with it because I don't want to trip over VCL's strange interface all the time. I never use Windows Media Player. My family and my friends use it on their computers and everytime I try to play sometime it takes forever for it to start up and then there's a "connecting" for awhile before the file even begins to play. MPC comes up and plays the file in a fraction of the time.
  3. I'd be interested in this (in the future, but there's no time like the present) as I plan on taking four semesters of Japanese starting in the fall. So, it would both help me learn Japanese over the next two years and then when I get to the point where I can partially read it, hopefully I will enjoy it as much as I am the Nintendo Power release. However, if I'm the only one interested, then don't worry about. Scanning hundreds of pages for just one person would really suck.
  4. Hello, I'd like to let everybody know that I can provide the missing posters and covers for Nintendo Power issues: 135 136 137 139 142 143 144 145 When I initially subscribed to Nintendo Power, I backordered issues as far back as the little card would go. Unfortunatly, I didn't backorder anymore, not to mention that they were out of issues 138 and 140 when my huge box Nintendo Power arrived. :( I have a scanner, so I can scan these myself in the same resolution and DPI that you guys have been scanning the older issues in. Also, since I physically own issues 146 to the present one (unless my little brother's been tearing them up while I was away at college ) I can help complete an issue if you guys are having trouble tracking down the poster, the covers of an issue or the entire issue in of itself. It's not much, but I figure it's the least I could do after receiving such a huge piece of video game history. Thank you for going to all of the work of scanning all of the issues. I just can't imagine how much work it was and how long it took...
