  1. Don't take my post as being derogatory. I did assume that you would figure out that I would have been talking about KI2 in a thread discussing KI2 betas, especially when I said "unreleased snes version". You should check out my site sometime, I have lots of information on over 100 unreleased snes games.
  2. I don't know what you are talking about. The only reason we know of KI2's existence on the SNES is because a former Rare employee we contacted told us that it was complete (before that, it was merely listed on a "rumours" list in an issue of Gamepro). There is no ROM image of it, let alone any information on KI2 for the SNES outside of what I have on my website.
  3. Have you ever come across any pictures from the unreleased SNES version? According to a guy from Rare that I spoke with, the SNES version was complete.
  4. Well, I assume whatever updates were done during the last update affected the forum scheme, and hence was relevant to said post. I would expect a bit more courtesy from someone who just got a ton of magazines from me for free.
  5. I was planning to update the Wiki pages for the magazines that have been uploaded (like here), however it is locked. These templates are fairly out of date, and as I am going along downloading the magazines I don't have in my archive, I was going to go along and update them. So, could I get permission for this?
  6. I don't know if you updated the forum software, but for some reason threads are displayed as trees, despite the fact that I have my setting to show all posts in order of posting.
  7. TheRedEye got dibs on about 1/3 of them (mostly mags older than 1998), and Jake claimed the rest, which I will hopefully be able to drop off on my way through the province next month.
  8. Personally, I think putting the magazines on a private tracker would probably be the most ideal way to do torrenting. I got approximately 30-40 GB of magazines scanned by Retromags from Underground Gamer, though it was in a largely disorganized and random collection compiled about two years ago. The fact that I was able to get everything I wanted (ie 16 bit era magazines) shows the ability to have continuous seeders on that website. I was seeding the Gamepro 1993 collection torrent there, and had about 5 people get it off me. Because that website requires people to have a good ratio, it is far more ideal than a public tracker where you have far more leechers than seeders. I personally want complete sets of magazines through the 16 bit era, because sometimes the most important information for my SNES research comes in the more obscure magazines (ie look at the info I found about the Canadian StarFox competition, which I found in an issue of Game Players). Trying to go through and collect it by doing individual web links is tedious, a drain on the bandwidth of this website, and I currently don't have the ability to do it.
  9. I'm at my parents' place, and decided to write down what video game magazines are here. It has become increasingly clear that I likely spent more money on video game magazines than I did on video games back when I was younger. Since I already am storing a lot of my stuff at my parents' place, and I plan on moving to another continent next year, I'm hoping to clear out my magazine collection (save for the Yoshi's Island strategy guide, I'm keeping that). Sorry for the lack of formatting on my list, but here is what I have and the condition the magazines are in. The vast majority are in great shape, with the exception of some scuffs on the binding. I will mail any of these for free to scanners, but if they are wanted just for collection purposes, I would ask that the person pays for shipping. I thought I might have time to scan some myself, but that is increasingly unlikely as I have lots of other things that are a higher priority for scanning. Anything I don't get rid of is going to the recycle bin. 10. No worries, I'm sure there are other goodies in the magazine that are of interest to the video game community. I would be interested in seeing the entire magazine.
  11. I got the scan from another person, so you don't have to worry about it. Thanks anyways.
  12. Hey, I've searched this forum, but I couldn't find any information on this. I'm trying to find the Fall/Winter 1993 Super Power Catalog, which was used to sell things to Nintendo Power subscribers. Information about this catalog can be found on page 115 in the January 1994 issue of Nintendo Power. In particular, I am looking for the page where they sell the rare StarFox Super Weekend cartridge. Any help with this would be appreciated.
  13. Ah never mind. I guess the files I was trying weren't finished. Now that the torrent is complete, I can run them fine.
  14. If anyone is interested, I am collecting scans of snes labels (as well as pcb scans) for my website. I keep an archive of 300 DPI scans for my hard drive, then downscale to 60% for the website. At some point when I collect enough I will make a torrent for them. As an example: http://img79.imageshack.us/my.php?image=msnsab6eusa2it.png
  15. Did you get them to work in SuSE? I have some install discs of Suse 10.1 laying around.
  16. Well no, that isn't working, it isn't recognizing them as being rar files at all. I am using the latest version of unrar so the format should not matter. output: snes@victory:~/super nes/np$ unrar x nintendo_power_016_-_1990_sep-oct.rar UNRAR 3.51 freeware Copyright (c) 1993-2005 Alexander Roshal nintendo_power_016_-_1990_sep-oct.rar is not RAR archive No files to extract I suppose I can try it on my Windows machine at work, though I am only have access to that sporatically.
  17. Hi all, thanks for making all these wonderful Nintendo Power scans available. Anyways, I am running Ubuntu 6.06, and I am trying to open the files using Comix (http://comix.sourceforge.net/) and it doesn't recognize the files at all. Also, when I try to open them up with unrar, it says they are not valid rar files. Does the compression scheme use something that is non-standard, or something that is in a recent version of the rar-ing program?
