  1. I'd probably say 2 first, then 1, 3, 0, Veronica, and 4 going last. I've beaten them all and really didn't care for the game when it turned into a shooter. That's why I haven't gotten part 5. I might try it when I find it real cheap but I'm in no rush. They changed too much and ruined the series if you ask me.
  2. I see plenty of new info in the mags I get. Websites have too much crap to sift through. I get 3 and maybe spend $20 a year since they offer cheap deals when your subscription is about to expire, and I only get GI because I make good use of the discount card at GS. GI would be my least favorite mag so of course it's the one I'm stuck with. The other 2 are Nin Power (started when I got the Wii and kept with it) and PTOM because I used to get PSM and they switched.
  3. That's too easy, Halo of course. Console FPS's are terrible. The genre really requires the use of M/KB. I suppose Doom could work only because you don't have to aim up and down. Anyway all the other choices have offered at least several great sequels.
  4. Can someone with better knowledge of the files let us know? I found my folder. I see maybe 10 or 15 posters from various issues. I thought there might have been more but it seems the majority of the folder is lost pages or covers from NP's, strategy guides, and a few other random things. Nothing really fancy though, I saw a poster of Faceball, Taz Mania, Lost Vikings, etc. Probably not what people were looking for, but if they'd help complete an issue...
  5. Actually that's a good Q. Do any of the scans this site hosts have the posters? I'm pretty sure I have a folder laying around with a ton of them. What condition they're in I can't say I also have no idea what issue they were from unless it's printed on the bottom. It was tough tearing them out of the mags (yes, scissors would have been smart), they were once folded in the mag, and I hung them with small bits of tape. I'm sure if they were scanned they could be cleaned up without much effort. Ya know, they would make nifty BG's too.
  6. As long as he's doing it manually and it's not an automatic process, yeah.
  7. Do I need to post or just log in to remain safe from the shark? I ask because I visit often to defend my arcade scores but the active topics aren't always interesting to me so I don't post too much.
  8. I know they updated it but it's still pretty much the same. And I got more than enough other racers that Outrun isn't high on my list. Ah, ok. BC:R was great if you liked the original. Yup. While I'll get disc versions to save space and have a physical copy for the collection, if DL'ing is the only option then so be it. Tough to say if MM9 would have had a chance as a retail release. Since I was a fan of the series I wasn't going to let a DL keep me from a new sequel.
  9. I hear ya. I won't touch 'em unless they support M/KB or just offer small doses like MGS, GTA, and the like. Only on PC for me. Unfortunately due to DRM and all I haven't touched many recent FPS's. They're good shooters, I liked 'em. Soldner is the only one to resemble an arcade style shooter. Being that I have most of those others on MAME or another console I'm fine. PSN has the same issue, a lot of the better games are on the Japan sections and not in the US store. I don't usually bother with Jap consoles so I don't get locked into paying import prices. Either I'll wait for a localized copy or hold off until emulation helps me out. I mean if I can't buy it then what choice do I have? There are more, yeah. I would try 1942 if I see it on sale. Dunno about Everyday Shooter. Flow and Flower aren't really 'games' if you ask me so I avoided them. GTI Club is ok. Tried the demo but not the full game. Outrun felt too basic for me when I played it on MAME, but if the price is right I might play around with it. Puzzle Fighter is great, but I didn't buy this one since I have it on PS1. Worms is cool, I played that for a while before the latest update kept me from playing online. It doesn't have everything the PC versions have though, not sure if that matters to you. No idea on the last one, not a fan of Pixeljunk games as too many turned out to be crappy TD-style games. What else... Echochrome is neat if you like puzzles. Megaman 9 and Bionic Commando Rearmed are must-buys. Poker and Bowling were ok since I got them cheap, just don't expect a really deep game. Not sure what more I could suggest. I prefer buying disc games so I don't simply purchase everything that appears on PSN.
  10. Wipeout is great. PSN also has shooters like SSD, Blast Factor, and Soldner X. So there's really nothing on 360 you can't get here. With everything being multiplatform it boils down to choosing 360's plain FPS 's or PS3's variety of exclusives. Uncharted, God of War, R&C, there's a bunch more.
  11. There's a multitude of reasons why you should have a PS3 already. As for this game they would need to add some things to it for me to spend money on it again. I still have my PS1 black-label copy and I try to avoid buying straight out remakes of games I own.
  12. I saw it advertised in my NP mags and thought I'd go pick one up. It's a special mag not included in subscriptions. I haven't read it yet but it covers the 20 years NP has been around and Nin's history. Thought this might be something one of you forward-thinkers would like to pick up. If you're serious about scanning complete sets this may be one of those issues that you want to get now while it's only $10, instead of 10 years from now when it's rare (if nobody buys it because like I said it's newsstand only as far as I know). It's on display until May 12th. Can't miss it, bright blue cover with a large Mario.
  13. Neat idea but I don't and won't pay subscription fees. Especially anything like Live. Sorry, it's a dud.
  14. Didn't check the link but read about this on G4. It's only 16 cents and rarely do DL's reach a gig (I think only one thing, the R&C:QFB game that I got was quite large) so they'll get a few DL's for each 16 cents. The way I heard it explained is it's kinda like advertising your product with demos and such. And customers don't directly pay for that. Surely a couple bucks is money well spent considering how many PS3 users there are that would purchase a product. And PSN doesn't have file limits as far as I know. Probably just another thing blown out of proportion because it's popular to make fun of anything that isn't XB. M$ is too busy bribing everyone to write good news after all the crap they pulled.
  15. Here's a thought. Even if they did go beyond 99, they closed up shop and became PSM (more or less). Would that matter for your cutoff if the group doesn't exist anymore? I guess the same would ring true with EGM, who would argue about a defunct mag unless they had plans to revive it? Again it's all part of that 'get it now while it's cheap and common' idea. Anyway I always liked the mag and have a large number of them myself (maybe #60 - #101). The humor made it worth reading in addition to the game coverage. I wish more mags were like that and cut out the movie news or cell phone gaming crap. So yeah if you got 'em I'd say get 'em scanned. I'm sure someday I'll look into DL'ing a few mags to read and besides a few early NP's this would be my next choice in line.
  16. I read a while back that it was for 'experimental', as they were designing it. So yeah just an internal codename. Dunno why they chose the name for their mini-server thing.
  17. I've been playing RE since PS1 and the series failed with part 4. It's not RE, it's another mindless console shooter now with zombies. And as we all know console shooters suck because they never support M/KB. I played and beat 4 on the GC but it really wasn't fun compared to the originals. I said elsewhere that Capcom probably had no choice but to overhaul the game. SH and Fatal Frame took over the survival horror genre. Sad to see it go, but other companies such as EA have been either running their games into the ground or changing them so drastically they lose what made them great so it's not a surprise another game ran out of steam. I may give this one a try anyway when I find it used for $20, but I dunno.
  18. Very cool, but shipping that would suck.
  19. I don't think I have that specific one but I do have a number of other similar guides. I wish I had time to scan, I got too many games to finish first.
  20. I'll care if they give us the games free when we can prove we own the original. That's what's keeping me from looking at VC or the PSN classics. No sense in paying twice.
  21. Where's the option for the original? That's the best one and what I'm keeping around.
  22. I bought it a while back after hearing good things and only just played through it like a week or two ago. Great game, never had the issues you described. There was just one mission near the end that I skipped because I hate how you need to point/aim then throw when trying to turn the camera and knock down dozens of incoming enemies. That was the one spot where the control method wasn't fast enough. If I had bombs or the hose it would have been fine because perfect aim wouldn't be as necessary.
  23. I'm all for sequels to the game but I'm not big on PSP. Certain games just work better with 2 sticks and of course new games don't work on my 1.50. I hope we get a PS2 or PS3 port like most of the PSP games I picked up. (GTA, R&C, TM, etc.)

    Hdtv Help...

That's fine, just asking. I appreciate the real thing too but for ease of use emulation does the same thing and I get to use the NES pad. You do know blowing in the carts is what leads to the blinking problem, right? I wish I knew that back then, luckily a replacement part fixed that right up. Good luck anyway.
