  1. Good finds. I'll admit I got a bit lazy when mags piled up as I started throwing them in boxes all mixed together. I've not found the rest yet. Ton of NP's and GI's though. Not sure where PC Gamer came from, never subbed to that. Yeah PSM totally ended in Dec 07 and PTom started right after that. But uh, the weird thing is your info is a little wrong. I just scanned the covers of the issues I found and the last one is #66, Holiday 2012. They must have wanted to finish the year. #65 is indeed FC3. #66 has DMC. The first issue was holiday '07 so it was 5 years (8-12) plus that 1 issue. Doesn't look like those 10 need rescanning but I'll get the rest when they show up. *https://community.retromags.com/gallery/image/7679-is66/
  2. Well, until I find issue 1 and issue 'final' I guess I won't have a definite answer. There's at least 66 of them so that's a start. Ha. How hard is it to make corrections? If you need better answers first then I'll hold the scans for a bit. If it's easy then I'm nearly positive it started when PSM ended and #66 is holiday 2012.
  3. So what did we decide to do with Ptom? I found a few issues today (59-66, still looking for the rest) to start scanning covers. Do I link them to the UK database or should there be an entry for the US edition?
  4. WTF, they made that many already? Or are you counting JP ones? I kinda started collecting them because they looked good, not so much to use them. I didn't have any interest in Pokemon or Fire Emblem and at $14 each there was no way I was gonna get them all. Ended up with maybe 15 open ones and 10 in box including a yarn Yoshi and the 3 pack because I HAD to have the mini ROB to go with my big one. If I found more really cheap then there are others I'd like, but at the same time I don't have a good spot to display them.
  5. Oh suuuure... Don't lie, I read your earlier posts in here. Do you still remember what games were for sale?
  6. You guys are easily distracted. Lol.
  7. Ebay should never be used to determine prices. Any fool can pick a random price and try to sell things. They might be nowhere near a fair price. Sold listings might be a better choice but even then someone that lacks sense could overpay which ruins it for everyone else.
  8. All I see are 3 extremely common games, grossly overpriced. Did I miss something?
  9. Oh good. If they're already uploaded then that'll save me some work.
  10. Can do. I'll just have to remember to link them once the option is added. I haven't seen any truly bad scans yet.
  11. While rummaging for those old Ptom's I found stacks of mags I forgot I had. GMR and EGM. I took a quick look and think I can scan some covers. I'll make sure they're acquired before I decide to recycle anything. But here's my question. Even though you have entries for all the GMR's I saw at least 3 or 4 where I own the alternate cover to the one shown. How complete do you want to get and how would you want to tweak the DB to support such a thing? Do you want me to scan 'em?
  12. My lack of knowledge? I've been playing and collecting for many years. It's not trolling if I'm right. I do suppose we went on a tangent though.
  13. There isn't anything ONLY available on PC worth playing is all I meant. The PC stuff you won't see on consoles is the kind of drivel you'd find on phones which I don't have nor would ever play. You know, those browser games, F2P, or the floods of match-3's. Consoles eventually get the better content that starts on PC. Once Steam ruined PC gaming for me I went to consoles and haven't really had to miss anything. Oh no I wouldn't dismiss indies. They add so much variety to my library. Seeing as major developers are too afraid of the risk involved with new franchises or gameplay ideas the indies are a necessary part of the market now. I must have mis-edited the post you quoted. Fluff is bad but not all indie content is bad. Whatever though.
  14. Well yeah they kinda do. Anything that gets noticed gets ported to a platform I own. I'm sure there's a lot of fluff and indie content I won't see, but that's like saying it's necessary to rush out and buy a mobile device for the shoddy exclusive 'games' those offer. The sole reason to hang on to PC was for mouse input on FPS's and that too was solved for consoles. No I didn't imply you were. What else can I say? I tried Steam and now I'd rather pay a little more for the same games on a more stable and functional platform. I can play my consoles offline, that's a big bonus. Then as I like to say discs/cases on a wall look better than files on a drive.
  15. Interesting. It looks like totally separate magazines. They're both on issue 61 with different dates. I'm certain mine doesn't have the UK tag. What would you want to do? I'm assuming you'll need to open a whole new folder.
  16. I don't like DRM either and have heard about GoG before. After the fiasco with HL2 I kinda got out of PC gaming. Consoles offer all the same games, I found the mouse controller to regain access to FPS's, and when my old PC became outdated I bought a laptop instead which doesn't have much gaming ability that I know of. I saw a number of offers for free Portal and there were even a few people on another forum that tried baiting me back to Steam with other freebies. Turned it all down. Got Portal and Portal 2 on PS3. I just didn't like anything I went through. Oh, and what really sealed the deal is when I reported all the problems I was experiencing. I didn't get help, they acted like Steam had no problems and chose to ban my account instead.
  17. You still have PS: The Official Magazine listed as a UK publication. Are you certain about that? I'm in the US and had a sub for that entire printing. I don't know if there were 2 mags with the same name or if I could provide another batch of covers. I mentioned in another topic that when PSM hit #130 they became P:ToM in the US. Until I find the right boxes I totally forget the dates or how many issues there were.
  18. What's not to hate? I bought the disc to avoid a long DL and HL2 spent hours doing so anyway. It searched my PC for installed games, blocked me from playing offline when my ISP was down, disabled the game until I updated even though I never played online, that same forced update broke the game, and basically it finally ended when I wiped the drive Steam and HL2 were on. They can't offer a price low enough to compensate for the annoyance. Besides I prefer physical discs for my collection and always wait for sales. I'll gladly pay a little more to ensure I can play whatever I want, whenever I want.
  19. It was a mess. I once paid for HL2 and after what I went through, never again. Even free content means installing Steam which is a no no. Nah I'd just get the originals. I know I have Hell Yeah on PS3.
  20. Nah, not going back to that mess. Steam burned me once. Free still isn't good enough.
  21. It probably did since they came in smaller cases but I wouldn't know for sure since I bought much of the lot on Ebay. Came with a few rarer games and it was an experience... Lost, found, broke, reshipped, yadda yadda. One of those consoles I tested and never found time to go back to. I did get that Replay cart to play imports (at least I think that's what it was for) but so many games are expensive and I'd have to stop buying modern games to make time for it.
