  1. I have an American dual shock 2 that looks like that, it's my favorite one. I also have that Microsoft pad for PC and I was pretty happy with it. The TGX controller is neat but I never had chance to play much TG-16. =/ The Saturn controller IS kinda slippery. I love how the buttons click and everyone on it though. It's also kind of fragile, being made of hard plastic. Just something about it is perfect to me and I can't put my finger on it.
  2. I always regret selling any of my 'retro' game stuff or trading things in to EB/GS. I should have never traded them anything, those rip-off artists. Now I have a daughter and I hope to raise her on them, though not as often played as I did as a kid, I got pretty lazy for a while, there.
  3. I didn't own any of the 32/64 bit for a while, either. Sort of skipped that one. I think it's because I played them often at my friends house and my family couldn't afford them. I never did play any Jaguar or 3DO.
  4. Parasite Eve is a neat game. My other friends would never try it for some reason. Mario 64 here, too. Been playing random Atari games because I haven't for a while. Haunted house, E.T. and some others. Trying to learn how to actually play them right.
  5. The topic title made me smile! That hospital sounds like a nightmare from a 3rd world! I'm glad you made it through, seems like you went through a lot.. maybe too much trouble for something as routine as an appendix. Be extra careful of infection. Makes me want to keep my body in constant check.. it's too bad I'm here in America where I'd have to sell my right leg to pay a doctor bill. Having no insurance sucks. Make sure you stay well retarded to fight off infection and come back to us in full force!!
  6. Yeah, I need one of those pads. I heard they break easily, though.
  7. I literally just read an article somewhere that said something about hardcore games being FPS. Now I search Google again and it brings up games like Madworld and other mature games. I guess there's also a term "hardcore casual" that seems to be gaining popularity. ??? Bomba, you have a great definition for "hardcore gamer" and I wish everybody(media) could pick up on it so they'd be on the same page.
  8. Just ones with e-mail or forum-type stuff like here. Nothings special. I don't think I have 10 constants. I know here, G-Mail, and deviantart. That's about it for constants.
  9. I like wireless control pads best of all because there's no restriction to how far away I can sit. But there are many perfect wired ones which are my favorite. I'll always love the Saturn's pad best. I liked having the 6 buttons right there in front of me, with two simple top buttons under your fingers. Best controller IMO. Second is Nintendo because of simplicity and control response, and then Super Nintendo. After those would be Playstation 2/3 and XBOX 360. The X360's controls are terribly unresponsive sometimes. Wii is last in line. I love how Wii's controllers work when you don't have to use them in the sideways position, but the button layout and having to add on(and thus buy) so much stuff all the time is annoying. The often used sideways position makes the Wiimote's novelty null, which sucks. So it is last on my list of favorites. 1. Sega Saturn 2. NES 3. SNES 4. Playstation 2/3 4. XBOX 360 5. Wii/add-ons I left out stuff like Gamecube and Dreamcast because they just have too many buttons laid out annoyingly for me to bother with. I've played a lot of games with them, and always had some kind of trouble stemming from having the buttons all splayed out everywhere. I left out the old controllers just because I always had trouble with response. I like accurate, quick controller response(who doesn't?). I usually always prefer a nice, strong D-Pad over an either highly-sensitive analog or a choppy one. Analog response for me was best on Wii, N64 and Playstation 2. Xbox 360's is good for 3D games, but not good at all for fighting games with complex control patterns.
  10. The old Zelda 1 and 2 artwork is spectacular, you're right. I always loved Ninja Gaiden's cinematic style, Megaman's cover art, and you can't beat some of the old paintings done for the covers of Atari and NES games. Joust, PacMan, and Millipede come to mind. The original Mario + Super Mario Bros. artwork is great. So many. I loved the Sega games artwork, too.
  11. I second Phillyman's comment! Mario Mix for GCN is a bit easier, though! *hinthint* Counter-Strike or similar games. They're fun to play, but I just get owned by the veteran players.
  12. AVGN just did a review on a 3DO game called Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, and it seems like it'd be softcore porn but denies you when you get the chance. It was rated 17+. Were they all that way? Isn't Madworld for Wii AO? They say 'funk' in excess and there's a lot of blood.
  13. Pretty good list, nickerous. It's good to see someone who has some different games than the usual in their top 10. I would pay $50 for a new Kid Icarus game! Whether it was new graphics or old. Either way, it'd be fun! I'd liken a new game to playing as Pit in Brawl in the Subspace Emissary Kid Icarus level, except better with more substance.
  14. Great show! I remember watching this, Count Duckula, Inspector Gadget and Heathcliff on old school Nick!
  15. I've always encountered a bunch of pompous asses who don't know crap about most games I like. Right now it's not bad, we have a bunch of nice ladies who are courteous and helpful at our store, but they don't know much about the games/release dates, etc. Before them, there were a bunch of dick teenagers though. It wasn't always terrible, back in 1997 when it was Electronics Boutique(recently changed to EBGames, then Gamestop a year or two ago) it was a decent place to find deals, and the staff were knowledgeable and fun. I still remember this tall guy with a deep voice who knew EVERYTHING about any game you could ask about. Geoffrey. I guess he moved to a store in Philly, he was just too much of a hardass for a little WV store. What happened? It also doesn't help that they don't give you anything for your trade-ins, you may as well give it to them free. How can they give you $7 for a brand new game that is $50 new and just came out? SCREW that! I remember a time when you could buy a new game, beat it, trade it back in for another new game. I understand the business issues this would raise, but everybody was happy. Gamestop doesn't even treat their employees well. They give you an option of a 'rip-off' card to put your earnings onto, or a check(which they're trying to phase out). It costs money to withdraw from your rip-off card almost anywhere, therefore hijacking your wages. Hell, most people I know just blatantly started stealing whole game systems, games, gift cards, etc from the store because they felt shammed. Not a good reason to steal, I know, but still, it shouldn't be that bad. Plus there is always someone wanting to take your job, a ton of kids apply there to get jobs because they like to play games. You're very expendable there, and they treat you that way. Yeah, I hear you 8bit, about that 'hardcore gamer' crap. Being a 'hardcore gamer' these days involves playing hour upon hour of WoW or FPS on your computer. Everyone caters to those types because that's what's popular now. Okay, one thing I liked recently was some extras that came with a pre-ordered game. That's one thing they have going for them. I hate GameStop, as it is today. Rip-off central.. I'd rather buy from Wal-Mart! It sucks because it's now the only game store around my area, so I HAVE to go there.
  16. Very cool! Interesting articles.. thanks guys! Great idea for a release.
  17. More than twice! A couple of times over stupid things, the police around here get pretty bored sometimes..
  18. NES Generation. I was born in 84 and got my first NES at 4 and still have it today. It's been my constant companion through house moves and life. =)
  19. Man, a CDX?? That's awesome. I've wanted one of those for a while now. Was it broken? I like your avatar, Jake. lol
  20. I used to eat those two things exactly, Areala, when my friend and I used to power through rented PS2 games. I guess you're right.. =O
  21. My friend just found an SNES in a box with 21 games in the trash outside someones house.. *ENVY* I already have 3 of them, but I wish I could stumble on something as good as that.
  22. Ever seen the movie Street Trash? VIPER! Your body would probably melt.
  23. I thought there were some here, but I guess not.
