  1. Yeah man, I had this issue.. it was Tips and Tricks! I have the MK pages.. I ripped them out like a jerk, so I could bring them along with me to play... I'll scan them when I go through my stuff next. Hopefully I can find them all.. that mag is destroyed! >:( here's a preview, is this it? Edit: On a second reading of your post, I don't think this is the one. This issue is from Jan. 1997 and it has lists for all the home systems. Probably not it. I went all out for nothing! Oh well, I had fun.
  2. Man, the Nintendo Cereal system was GREAT! That stuff was so good. I have some clippings from the boxes from back in the day around here somewhere. That cereal and the Ghostbusters cereal were my favorites when they were out. I always love video game related merchandise. The store I worked at a couple months ago had a Sonic shampoo with a little water game where you press buttons and try to catch rings on two poles. I almost bought it just for the heck of it.
  3. Yeah.. there will never be days like those again!
  4. Man, I used to love that game even though it was hard as hell to figure out where to go. Another good creative game by David Crane, creator of Pitfall. This version looks 1000 times better than the original, and rightly so, it's been about 20 years since the original.
  5. Didn't the 3DO have a humongous controller, too?
  6. I like how 'videogame' looks, but 'video game' is the correct usage, I think. Video game for me. Man.. reading the word video so much right now and looking closely at it.. it's kind of a strange word.
  7. Does anyone have those old Nintendo Power Players Club or whatever they are from the 90s? I always dug the merchandise they had in there.
  8. I also have Suddenlink.. it's been a bit sloppy lately, but it's never gone out on me. Some nights it's so slow I can only open one tab in Firefox. Why? I don't know. I have a bundle deal with phone + cable too, maybe that factors in somehow. There are no caps as far as I know, either, but I've never enquired about that stuff. I'm not aware if I can monitor my stuff or not. Do you know, Saber?
  9. Looks like you guys already have CT and EarthBound. I'll look deeper in me closet.
  10. New Kid Icarus would be AWESOME! I love that game and its GameBoy sequel and Pit looked pretty sweet on Smash Bros. I'd love to see how his world looks on Wii. Mother 3/4 won't be coming here. Mother 4 isn't going to be done at all, the creator said so himself. As for M3, the only way we'd get it is if they somehow released a Mother 1+2 here in the states like they did in Japan and then followed up with Mother 3. But it would be for DS and not GBA, of course. That's all speculation from starmen.net boards. Another StarFox would be great too, but only if it were ship battles and not this crazy adventure stuff like we saw on 64 and GC. I liked the DS game a lot.
  11. I have yet to play it, but it didn't look that special to me. I was kinda let down. I didn't like the camera movement and a few other things.
  12. I hear ya! I feel the SAME way! I have my own money now, so I can buy all the old systems or games I couldn't back then. Of course, I like to play them beforehand and make sure they're actually gonna be fun. I'm big on collecting old consoles/boardgames/etc. but only at excellent prices. I don't like to order them over the net even if they're supposed to be "brand new" or "in box" etc. Just doesn't make me feel the same as happening upon a model 1 sega genesis with a crappy 32x hooked up to it for $7. I mean, it's few and far between, but that keeps things seeded out a bit for me. I'm glad I live in an area where nobody knows the online value of some of the things they're selling. > Good luck, buddy!
  13. Wow E-Day, this is a nice collection! I'm interested in the Saturn 3D controller and Virtual On! I might just bid on them, watching them now.
  14. I'm debating blowing a ton of money on the Real Ghostbusters DVD set from Timelife. Anyone have it? I know I probably wouldn't be disappointed, that show was GREAT on so many levels! As for most of the games, they disappoint me, except for the Genesis one, which was pretty well done. Anybody into the Angry Video Game Nerd? Check his GB review if you haven't seen it! http://www.screwattack.com/AVGN/2007/GhostbustersPt1 Funny Ghostbusters review While I'm at it, I may as well plug the episode that has one of my Photoshoppings in the opening: http://www.screwattack.com/AVGN/2008/Zelda Chronologically Confused About Zelda I can't wait for the new game to come out! It looks perfect!
  15. Well I assume Redbox has some deal with Wally World like this company is working to attain, that's the only reason I brought it up. And heck yeah I'd rather pay a dollar for a day instead of some higher price/higher chance of forgetting I even rented a damn movie from Cockbuster. Which is why I do. I guess you're right about pricing, but I used to work at a great video store and game shop and I really liked the huge selection and specialty stuff we had.. very competitive prices, too(and we illegally put out the DVD movies before the DVD release date..hush hush). I go for cheap price just like everyone else, but I just hate to see small specialty places with decent prices and better selection(not to mention classic games) losing out. I'd be kinda creeped at first to go to a health clinic in Wal-Mart.. but if it works, it works. I mean hell, I was cured of a disease from a free clinic, so a Wal-Mart clinic couldn't be bad. It just also bugs me that they're covertly monopolizing like this. They're just outsourcing in a way. Soon all we'll have left is Wal-Mart and nothing else. Then they'll hike prices.
  16. Thats awesome! I've seen other giant robot statues from around the world, but this one looks especially gigantic! The details look pretty amazing, too. I wonder if it'll be possible to sit in the cockpit.
  17. hahah Man. First Wal-Mart monopolizes movie rentals with RedBox(which I uh.. use.), now they're killing game rentals! I don't care for GameSpot much, but still, smaller game stores in small towns will be killed by this if it catches on. This is getting a little out of hand.
  18. I was bored and made a dirty picture out of the clouds. I don't really want to share because it could be considered offensive, haha. I get bored a little too often in my downtime..
  19. Going through my mags right now.. most are in bad condition. I was about 10-13 at the time most of these came out, so I guess it's understandable. I also have Darkstalkers(Fair cond. with some torn out art pages) and some badly done Prima guides(new cond.) for some PSX games(Lunar & Wild Arms and maybe another). I have Nintendo Players Guides for Chrono Trigger and Earthbound in fair condition. Everything listed comes from the USA. Some of the issues I posted as Good with missing pages aren't actually all missing pages, just sometimes have writing or little snippits taken out, but it's not often. Unfortunately though, my Nintendo Power issues have the cards and posters taken from them, sorry. I'm thinking about selling the magazines(excluding the SFA2, CT and EB guides) if anyone would actually want to put any needed issues up here. I really don't want to scan all this stuff, too lazy/too little time. There are some gems here, though. I know a few of the things I posted are too new to be included(the newer NPs for one), but I made a personal file of everything and just copied it all over. If anyone's genuinely interested, PM me. I'd only really like to sell if I'll be seeing them put online here.
  20. 1, 2 & 3 are my favorites of the series, for sure. You can't beat the levels, the music, the progression of the game from the beginning.
  21. Mister Zero

    Hello,

Welcome to Retromags. Sounds like there's no better time for you to look to the past for good games! This is a nice starting point as everyone here are retro gamers. Maybe we can give you some guidance toward some good titles, if you're interested.
  22. Wow, the version of Issue 0 that's already up is cooler than mine. Came with Sega Visions and has a different color cover. Anyways, glad there's some interest. Anyone willing to touch up some issues?
  23. Is anyone interested in these? I could scan a few and send them to someone to touch them up, cuz I don't really have the time or experience in the detailed process here at Retromags.
