  2. What do you mean by controlled? She said SquarEnix still runs the servers.
  3. Asked. I'll get back to you after she messages me.
  4. To me, Green Day is no deal to make a game out of. They should've stopped making music and acting like punks when they turned 20 something(I liked their first two albums somewhat), it's just pathetic looking now, and their music sucks. But that's just my opinion. Their Rock Band game could've been switched out for a Van Halen one, easily. VH has way more fans, definitely way more people who air guitar to them and could have benefitted from a Rock Band: VH. It's sad that this game isn't good. I had hopes. Great blog, keep it up!
  5. Kendo Rage was an anime? I never knew that. I used to be a fan of this game but I haven't went back and tried it again.. maybe now is the time. Another decent one(not sure if it was released in America or not) is Ghost Sweeper Mikami. Sort of quirky and a little fun in the same vein.
  6. Totally agree. EVERYONE hopped on FF at VII.. I think it was partially because it had it's own commercial on TV. All of a sudden people who had only been playing sports games picked up "one of those talking games." I haven't touched a Final Fantasy since IX(I actually liked IX). I took a look at X and it just wasn't anything I wanted to take part in so I left it alone. I tried 11, I think it was, but it was boring (And I needed a KEYBOARD?!)so I quit. It felt like some kind of WoW wannabe, not FF. I don't like how cinematics have taken the place of the on-screen characters moving around the screen and talking at certain points. That always felt so much more natural. Another thing that bugs me is the lack of artwork by Yoshitaka Amano. His work in the series ALWAYS made Final Fantasy what it is. I think I've officially started liking Dragon Quest much more. It's more of what I want from an RPG. I've had more fun with the last two installments of DQ than I've had with any RPGs recently. DQ6 is also a great great game.
  7. Philly I think this is the mag I most wanted from you!!! I wanna see more mags about arcade games.
  8. Oh yeah, outside of Japan I think that is the name on the cart. I never realized we used the Japanese or arcade name here. My US cart is "The Sacred Stones," too.
  9. I just remembered they were supposed to send me those back in 1998, but never did. All I got were demo discs. =/
  10. Juuudas, my guide! Whispers, innn the niiiight!

  11. This is what concerns me, although I think the point is more for the mags to be in a member's possession to where they will be available for scanning. Not necessarily scanned right away unless someone absolutely wants an issue or two done. I mean, it would be a donate-as-you-want and if you want type deal. It's not like you're being required or even rewarded for doing it. More like, hey I have a few bucks to blow might as well support the site in some way. Again, not everyone will see it this way, but no one is required to donate to the cause, either. I think overall it might work, but of course may be a point of controversy as well. Also, it's not guaranteed that we'll eventually have enough money(sometimes in the 100's) in the fund for it to be useful.
  12. This might create a quick and easy fix for the searchable database idea we had. If only we could get it to work; I don't know if it's possible through this forum software or whatnot. Can you tell I don't know what I'm talking about?
  13. I just replaced the middle shell of my Lite! Back to playing DQIX! DS is by far my favorite handheld. I don't own a PSP, but there are only a few games I'd care to play on that. I'd probably just hack it. Long live the DS!
  14. The Saturday morning show was the best! The one based more on the comics, not the Disney version. Sonic the Hedgehog is an excellent game.. After I played it at my friends house in 1991 I was hooked and just HAD to have a Sega. Christmas of 1992 I got one and it came with Sonic 2! Fond, fond memories.. Something interesting is all the early prototypes of the Sonic games. They featured many different layouts of levels and animations. More on this over at Sonic Retro.
  15. I don't have many comics anymore, but I used to love Amazing Spider-Man, Batman and X-Men back in the 90s. I was big into the 70s Batman comics for a while, the artwork was awesome. The only comics I have left are basically all of the Dark Horse Mask comics and my Sonic comic collection. I also love the Walking Dead. I have some manga too, not much, but the full collection of Viz Lum, Battle Angel Alita and some Ranma.
  16. Just came across this and thought I'd share.. might bring back a few memories for some.
  17. It looks like he's jumping up or even forwards.. but what if he were jumping backwards out of it? WOAH MAN! I CAN'T HANDLE THE POWER! What the hell could he possibly be doing? Maybe he did a front flip into it, only to land on the cheap plastic and break it; this was the only photo they did in the shoot because afterward it was annihilated. It looks like it was made of that thin plastic they used to make those electric race car sets out of. Sega ACTIVATOR: Made from spare TYCO parts! Really though, did this thing work? I actually think I might have made my little racetrack parts into an octagonal shape when I was a kid trying to replicate the sheer power of the Activator. Of course it was nothing like the real thing and didn't work.. .... Sorry for taking the conversation so off track. The Activator was just some unreachable anomaly when I was a kid.. I'd like to hear first hand experiences.

    WTF? :/

I just think it's kind of funny how just because the place was turned down for landmark status it's all of a sudden become a prime time to build a mosque in NYC.

    WTF? :/

Three words, two abbreviated: G.I. Joe. I think it's BS. Totally agree with Thor. America is a place to learn to accept(or "tolerate" as it's said)others religions and ways of life, but they should have the common sense and decency to know this is a bad idea. I have family that are New Yorkers and I really don't think it's the smartest idea to do this.. the New Yorkers are still pretty pissed about 9/11 and not everyone sees the difference between radical and mainstream Islam. I really don't think they'd care to learn the difference, either. The place would be burned down or vandalized relentlessly.
  20. I really think these gaming companies are finally getting it right going back to the basics. They've had their time to experiment, and I don't think it's paid off as much as when they just made things that work. I hope they figure it out this time around.
  21. This looks SO AWESOME! I'm glad that they remastered the animation!
  22. Alpha III became my favorite until I laid eyes on IV. IV Super is the game that I've always wanted, it's just a great Street Fighter. Obviously Capcom has found their niche again as with SFII and they're running with it. This time I'm glad. I never played much III but I have respect for it.. it can be a great game if you want to spend time with it. IV 3DS has me kind of in a hard spot.. I'm expecting an Alpha III Advance type deal, mainly due to the button layout on the DS. A3 for GBA didn't have enough buttons for all the punches and kicks. The DS has the 4 buttons on front and two on top.. how will they do Ultras?
