  1. That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up.
  2. This is a great cover.
  3. Mario sure is in a weird position on Yoshi.. where are his legs?
  4. Not a big deal, but it looks weird: Under the logo at the top of the page, the "Links" and "Chat" are underneath all the other links. Just kind of bugs me. Other than that a lot of the more useful things have already been listed.
  5. I can sort of agree with the publishers when it comes to scanlations.. many of the series are current and by scanning them they are essentially giving away free manga to anyone who wants it. Now, if it were an old series from the 80s and 90s, I don't think they'd care as much. Also, if there is interest in an English translation, there is possibly a market for that perticular manga in the states and elsewhere. By scanning and translating these for free, money is being lost to countless people. I totally see why they did it, and I agree. Not to say I'm above it all, I pirate as much as the next guy, honestly. It just wasn't a smart move for the scanlation groups. On the other hand, here at Retromags I believe we're going about things in a generally good way, no one is losing profit. Maybe they're actually making profit, because people who remembered the mags when they were kids might get back into them and order/buy after going back through the old issues again.
  6. This has happened to my fiancee and me so many times. I can understand why it happens, but it's not right. I try to stay away from eBay these days.. I don't like how its more focused on storefronts and not individuals.

  8. Sort of reminds me of Pocky & Rocky..
  9. From the album: Mister Zero's Junk Pile

Circa Christmas 1991(?). Size about 1.5x1.5 ft. I haven't seen this anywhere else on the net.
  10. Oh wow, I just saw this covered the other day on Kotaku, I think it was. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Nice work. On behalf of everyone, thank you.
  12. This is definitely true. We should see if a few people would like to step up and do some dedicated work on the wiki.
  13. It all sounds like a lot of work for just a few hobbyists on a private site. It's a great idea, but I don't think it would get off the ground just yet. Badinsults, let me just say that I love your site. It's so full of information and the articles are top-notch. Great work.
  14. If I remember right, it was nirv who came in here stirring things up. As far as this community, it was fine until nirv came around wanting to debate with everyone about the state of the site. We've all basically been on good terms here. Debating is fine and it comes up every once in a while, and that's just how things work. It's part of a community. Petty name-calling and personal attacks are no way to further a debate. It's childish and it just won't be tolerated. Not everyone is going to see things your way. I, as a user and (barely)moderator, personally don't care if any of you scan magazines and submit them here if you have a bad attitude. If you come with good intentions and can get along like adults, then you'll always be welcome here. Debates are fine, but escalating them to playground foolery is just no way to do it. Thank you for what you're doing, but you're doing it of your on accord and it's your own choice. This is a privately owned site, not Google Magazines. Scanning and submitting magazines does not entitle you to coming here and personally attacking users just because they don't see things your way. The only petty contrivances I've seen here have been started by nirv. I had no problem with him or anyone else, but after a while it just got old, and I too am sick of it. If you guys can't get along, then move along. And for the record, E-Day is not just some forum mod, he actually owns the site now. Many of the site users have come to E-Day and Phillyman about what has been happening with seemingly unprovoked attacks from nirv and others. E-Day is merely responding to a problem at his site.
  15. This is a great idea. I've also wanted something similar to this for a while now. Basically what I boiled it down to is the magazines contents being searchable. Want to read all the articles about a certain game? Search the name and it will bring up a list of articles about the game, or maybe even just with the game's name included within. I think at one point we were going to show or type out the table of contents for each issue, but the idea fizzled out. This would have helped such a system come into place, as it would have become a sort of skeleton to build upon.
  16. I KNOW I've seen a few.. I just can't remember which mags they were in. Not 7800, per se, but other Atari systems.
  17. That looks like a cool issue, thanks gladiator!
  18. I hope you'll keep up with it, E-Day. I think it's probably a good idea.
  19. Does anyone have this Zelda poster that they could scan?
  20. It's neat, but I don't really see the point of it, either. I know some people definitely like that sort of thing as many people have collected arcade flyers over the years. It's almost the same type deal. I wouldn't get rid of it at all, I myself eye through them sometimes just for the hell of it.
  21. What does it look like? Is it "The Official Nintendo Players Guide"?
  22. Even if they do this, there will still be a point where they'll leave a hole open by accident and hackers will exploit it. Look at something like the Twilight hack. I say go for it, but it hasn't worked so far in history. I don't think Nintendo of all companies will be the one to stop it.
  23. I'll probably try it out sometime, they converted 3 of my local theaters into 3D. Might as well see what the hype is about.
  24. Thanks you, and I don't care that much about Next Gen. I probably have a stack of them somewhere that I never read.
