  1. Cartoons, movies, fast food, music, weather, people, video game magazines, tv shows & the economy were much better in general in the 80's and 90's. I really haven't enjoyed the 2000's much at all... :(
  2. Added Game Players June '93 through December '94 covers.
  3. Awesome! Premier issues are always so interesting to check out.
  4. Ya, pretty basic looking. Still cool though. The first year of NG was BY FAR the best as far as content goes. So many awesome interviews and articles...
  5. Added Next Generation January '97 through September '99. Starting with April '97, the cover scans are full screen. Now I wish I had done the previous ones full screen!
  6. Thanks! Indeed, it is one of the best videogame mags in my opinion... So many great interviews and articles!
  7. Nice reminiscing! I seriously miss the 80's and 90's...
  8. I can't wait to actually hold a copy in my hands.
  9. Added Next Generation Issues 1 - 24.
  10. Another bite! *grumbles at having to edit the list again * But really, I find these kind of polls very fun and interesting.
  11. The NUON version of Iron Soldier is part 3 of the IS series. The Jag only ever got 1 & 2. And yes, the PS also got Iron Soldier 3. Graphically IS3 is a bit better on the NUON than the PS, but both versions are pretty close. The Jag is the only place where you can play IS1 or 2. Iron Soldier 2 actually came out on both the Jag as a cart and for the Jag CD, as a CD.. The cart version is much harder to find and is worth over $100. The CD version is no slouch, as it commands about $60 for a copy. Iron Soldier 3 on the NUON was actually pulled from the shelves shortly after it was released because of a critical bug found, so it is worth big money. $150+ I had IS3 for the Playstation, and didn't care for it too much. It does have a super long and awesome intro though. I also prefer IS1 over IS2, as part 2 is extremely difficult even on the easy setting! IS1's difficulty is more balanced. I echo this sentiment, and am proud to be a member here at Retro Mags. This is truly an awesome website for us video game magazine fanatics!
  12. My picks: 1 - GameFan 2 - Next Generation 3 - GamePro 4 - EGM 5 - Nintendo Power 6 - Game Players 7 - Classic Video Gamer 8 - PSM 9 - SwatPro 10 - EGM2
  13. I'd be interested to know what everyone's favorites are. Here's the criteria I've come up with: List your 10 favorite mags in order. Order matters. 14. John, sounds like most of your issues are in too good of condition to attempt to scan them! I could see scanning just the covers, but if your mags are in the condition I'm thinking, it wouldn't be worth it to attempt to scan the inner pages as it's next to impossible to not damage the mag when doing that. Honestly, eBay probably is the best place to sell them. I would say many of your issues are worth $50+ each, easily. Probably some are worth over $100 each.
  15. Having to throw away GameFans is so sad. :(
  16. Oh, so that's what saved em eh. They would have been totally destroyed had they not been protected?
  17. Ya, first flooding rain in California got your GameFans, then the tornado in Arkansas! Those poor GameFans never had a chance! Then again, any other magazine would have been turned into pulp / tissue paper with paper quality much below GF...
  18. lol. I know, I know.. Your GameFan's may deserve the purple heart, as they look like they've been through a couple wars! Not many people can say their mags went through a tornado and back!
  19. Thanks, I'm happy to help. Don't worry, I won't replace ALL of your GameFan scans. I only have so many issues. I think I'll do the Next Generations next.
  20. I was born in December 1981. I do vaguely remember some friends bringing over a 2600 in the mid 80's, but I was a total NES kid. It was the first system my parents bought for my sis and I. Christmas 1989.
